“In many ways, we’ve followed a path that The Chosen helped demonstrate,” Kadem wrote, “building an audience in an unconventional way, allowing viewers to discover the series through platforms like YouTube and Angel, and continuing to grow from there.” She put Dallas Jenkins, Issa Rae’s YouTube-to-HBO run, and Curry Barker’s YouTube-to-theatrical jump in the same paragraph. Independent careers, she said, do not have one road anymore.
The series already posted the Lionsgate deal in August. “Our wandering is over,” the Instagram said. TV Insider ran a Season 2 sneak that week. Morocco was already in the can. Fall 2026 was the window. No Friday. On September 14, the official account answered a platform question under that story with one word: YouTube. Kadem, six days later, is talking Lionsgate for the world.
August’s Season 2 recaps named Moses, Miriam, Aaron, Joshua, Caleb, Zipporah, and Chisisi coming back. Shamira was not in those roundups. IMDb has Kadem in three Season 1 episodes. Sunday is her putting herself on the Lionsgate season, and telling anyone who missed her that Season 1 is still up, “including my introduction as Shamira.”
Hudson shot the next run in Morocco. He still has not dated a premiere. Kadem closed with stay tuned. The tribe already has a free season and a studio logo. What it does not have is a Friday, or a single answer to where Season 2 lives when Lionsgate’s global deal and a YouTube reply are both on the record.
