How House of David took the fugitive years to Greece

Season 3 cameras are dated September 14 through December 11 in Attica, a mid-September start Greek producer Panos Papahadzis confirmed to Proto Thema.

Jon Erwin and Jon Gunn wrote the season and are showrunning it, and Amazon still has not named a premiere Friday.

Exile as a location budget

Variety reported the renewal in July. Erwin and Gunn said Season Three “follows David through one of the most defining chapters of his life.” The official synopsis is colder: before the throne, exile, with David a hunted outlaw hiding among enemies and living another lie, which is 1 Samuel after the palace and a reason to stay in Greece. The first two seasons already used Attica as Israel. Season Three just adds more months on the same dirt.

Papahadzis, whose Argonauts company produces locally with Nomadic Pictures, told Greek press the third season will push money spent in the country past €100 million. Palaces went up at Giorgos Karagiannis’s Studio K2 in Markopoulo. A biblical village sits on a large plot in Paiania. Locations in Lavrio and Anavyssos are on the map again, with Kapa Studios 2 as the stage. To Paron said cameras were due this month with EKOMED support. This desk does not have dailies from yesterday. The dated window is the fact. The series already looks like prestige television. Season 3 is the test of whether exile still photographs that way when the king is running.

Michael Iskander returns as David. Ali Suliman, Ayelet Zurer, Indy Lewis, Oded Fehr, Ethan Kai, and Sam Otto are back. Prime has not circulated Season 3 stills. The frame on this page is Iskander from the seasons already on the service.

Wonder Project can date a shoot. It still cannot date a drop. Until Amazon names a Friday, the fugitive years are a production story in Greece, and a blank on the premiere grid.
