Daniel falls 54 percent in its second weekend

Half the weekend, fewer rooms

A 54 percent drop on an independent Bible title is the shape exhibitors expected after a $2,166 opening average. Losing 224 screens in the same breath is the booking answer. The rooms that stayed still only did about half the per-screen work of weekend one. Legs on the opening weekend alone were already soft. The second weekend did not repair them.

Unveil spent midweek selling added showtimes after the open. JubileeCast carried that Instagram claim while the midweek ledger was still quiet. Added showtimes are not the same thing as a hold. Box Office Mojo’s estimate puts the second Friday-to-Sunday under a million and a half with a smaller map.

Kooman already mapped sequels past the furnace: Jeremiah, Nebuchadnezzar, the lions’ den. That slate needs a circuit that stays lit. Week two cut 224 rooms and cut the weekend in half. The open question is how many of the 1,301 screens are still there next Friday, and whether a $6.2 million cume funds the next Daniel picture or just proves the first one opened.
