Dallas Jenkins said Sunday that The Chosen: The Three Kings, a new Christmas special already filmed, will air on Fox in mid-December.
It is the third Chosen Christmas installment after The Shepherd and The Messengers. Season 6 still opens on Prime Video on November 15. The Fox date is national broadcast in the Christmas corridor, aimed at viewers who never open the app.
Jenkins told fans the special grew out of a Three Kings flashback that got too big and too expensive to keep inside Season 6. Church Leaders and Charisma both dated the surprise to the Sunday livestream. Filming is finished. Season 7 production continues. He would not name the cast or show footage.
“This is an opportunity to get even more of The Chosen out to new audiences,” Jenkins said. “It’s going to be on national television in December.” Fox has not locked an exact air date. Mid-December is the window he gave listeners.
Jenkins said the special “flows directly with Season 6 and into Season 7.” Storylines introduced in the crucifixion season pay off in The Three Kings, and scenes in the Christmas episode will inform the theatrical crucifixion film Amazon MGM still has for early 2027. That is the same crucifixion corridor Come and See already put into churches with Episode 1 early access. Private cuts of the feature have circulated among people Jenkins has quoted. There has not been a public early-screener dump of the crucifixion movie this week.
Prime gets the November subscribers. Fox gets a Christmas night that does not require an Amazon login. The open question is the Friday Fox finally prints, and whether a Magi special can pull the people who skipped five seasons and still show up for a broadcast hour.
